DALLAS, TEXAS – 19 June 2017 – Solomon Associates’ President & CEO, Charles J. Reith, Jr., presented “Refining to Petrochemicals – The Way Ahead” in the first session of the 21st Refinery Technology Meet (RTM) in Vishakapatnam, India in May 2017.
Refinery Technology Meet (RTM), one of the most prominent technical conferences pertaining to the refining sector in the country, is periodically organized by the Centre for High Technology (CHT) under the aegis of MOP&NG and attended by oil industry luminaries.
The 21st RTM, held at Vishakapatnam from 20–22 April 2017, was jointly organized by CHT and Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Pte Ltd. (HPCL). The event was inaugurated by Dharmendra Pradhan, Minister for Petroleum & Natural Gas. Speaking on the occasion, he emphasized the need for innovation in the refining sector, greater emphasis on research and development (R&D), increased need for protection of the environment, and emissions reduction. Awards were given in various categories in refinery and R&D field. He lauded the efforts of CHT, HPCL, and all other oil companies for successfully organizing the 21st RTM.
Mr. Reith presented during the first day of the event at the Theme Session. Kevin Henke, Senior Solomon Consultant, also presented a technical paper on “Insights into Petrochemicals Production from Petroleum Refineries.” The conference had a record attendance of more than 750 persons consisting of participants from oil companies, contractors, consultants, government agencies, and foreign delegates.
